This year, VASC will be centering its work and professional development around student activism and the theme will be Power With 2.0! Often attributed to Relational Cultural Theory, power with—rather than power over—emphasizes the importance of empowerment, empathy, and relationship in our work with the students we serve. Students and clients have been using their voice to advocate for change for years—for LGBTQ+ rights, climate change, racial justice, and beyond. With a focus on the next wave of power we hope to elevate the platforms and priorities of students in Virginia!
